2019年9月9日 · In very dry places, fire can happen, especially if you're shooting steel with a .50 with API bullets (armor piercing incendiary) or tracers. I've seen one tracer that didn't light until it hit the dirt, then it flared up and nearly set the target stand on fire. Steel core can cause sparking when it punches a hole through steel.

You need to get the barrel and forcing cone dimensions as a minimum, if they are on the tight steel shot can easily cut through the wad and groove your barrel.

Dec 8, 2021. #8. Splash back is usually caused by a deeply pocked steel target. IMHO, if the steel targets are smooth, the splash back will be minimal. We had a shooter hit in the forehead with splash back from 25 yards. The steel target was deeply pocked. It barely broke the skin, but could have injured an eye.

Before the match we were also shooting steel at Mac's Gunworks shop out to 2200 yards, lots of fun Typically the same week as WY-shot a bunch of us go to the MOA cold turkey 1000 yard pistol match. Bench shooting 500, 750 and 1000.

Nov 7, 2012. #8. I can't find a picture of my silouette target. Its 18 wide 24 tall. When used at distance (beyond 1,800 yards) it is a fairly tough hit even when winds are light. A friend has a mortorized reset steel Larue target that is 11 wide x 17 tall awesome gear but a bear to hit at distances beyond 1,800 yards.

2024年11月4日 · Ringing steel with friends on the weekends was something to look forward to. Once the steel targets were setup,I/we would invite anyone there at the shooting range to join us for a friendly competition. Mostly everyone there enjoyed shooting with us and we made more friends in the process. IMO you don't get this with F-class shooting.
