2020年12月20日 · I have an external SSD, but other than transferring games faster it's no different than a USB 3.0/3.1 mechanical external. It can only be used to play PS4 games, PS5 games still need to be ran off the internal SSD.

SuperSpeed USB 5 Gbps or later. 250 GB minimum, 8 TB maximum capacity Not all devices are guaranteed to work with the PS5 console. You can't connect the drive through a USB hub.

Digital games will just work, disc games will require you to have the disc inserted into the ps5. Not sure what you mean by ps5 specific external hard drives. Any external usb drive will work.

2020年11月20日 · I can't believe this issue still hasn't been fixed. Sony is doing a crap job on PS5's software. Also, there should be an easier way to fix these issues once an external device fails. Like, couldn't they just recognize that the external device was corrupted and automatically remove the games? Edit: fixed it.

There is exFAT format which cannot run PS4 games, this format is limited to PS4/PS5 backups, capture gallery exports, copy PS4 saved data, and is usable on PC.
