During a call, if use the second option for both input and output, i can use the mic on headphones very well, but the audio that comes is really bad.

It does see them, but doesnt recognise them as headphones, but as a smartphone as you can see in the screenshot. So I can't use them with my laptop. I also have a JBL speaker, this connects with windows fine and is automatically recognised as a speaker.

2023年4月21日 · It is a surface pro 9. The JBL earbuds are listed as paired in the "bluetooth" drop down. The earbuds are not listed in the "select a sound output." Toggling between "paired" and "connected" occurs immediately after "pairing a new output device." It never stays "connected." I wiil try the step you listed and will get back to you.
