But the facts show that Prentiss's men numbered 1,100 of a total of 3,817. That works out to 29 percent for Prentiss. WHL Wallace (913) had 24 percent.

Very head-scratching as to why he was so chatty with his captors, and why he was willing to freely give them so much information about Grant's army and the (apparent) arrival of Buell's army.

The state of Ohio placed monuments for all of their units---artillery, cavalry and infantry---which fought at Shiloh.
