Is it ok to take colace (stool softener) on a regular daily basis?
2008年7月16日 · Thr nurse at my Dr's office said I could take Colace (she reccomended generic for price) everyday with the iron. Now that I know calcium was the real culprit I'm going to try the iron again w/o the softeners first. But I'm curious about the answers too. ~Shani~.

2012年4月25日 · Colace is a stool softner, so it won't make you go more frequently. I usually take 2 a day, one am/pm. I also take 500 mg mag oxide and Miralax daily. I usually go every other day. These are safe for daily use. Be careful of "stimulant" laxatives, as they can cause bowel dependence when used long term.

2011年12月19日 · TMI Alert: I've had bad constipation in the past even before surgery so I've had to set up a pretty serious program: a dose of colace in the morning and at least 12-15 grams of fiber during the day. I'll add a dose of miralax if I haven't had a BM for 36 to 48 hours as I don't want to let things go too long due to my past problems (2 impactions).

2008年7月16日 · Stool softeners, like Colace, are okay to use daily, as far as I'm concerned. Laxatives, like dulcolax or milk of magnesia, etc... are not recommended for daily use. The sheer volume of BM generated by malabsorption makes it wise to find a way to keep our stool soft!

2010年7月29日 · I used 3 of the 5K IU dry D3 daily for 6 months. Then I upped it to 4 of the 50K IU per week. Then I had labs 2 months ago. My D3 levels were a 65. Best levels are 80 or more, so I've upped it to 5 of the 50K iu weekly. BUT, there are some post ops that can have D3 levels at 90 or so on 10K iu daily.
