Kia has shown what rugged versions of its EV9 and upcoming PV5 van might be like with a pair of concepts at the 2024 SEMA show.

KIA has marked its return to the SEMA Show in Las Vegas with the unveiling of two all-electric concept vehicles, including the bold EV9 ADVNTR Concept SUV. Designed by the KIA Design Center America (KDCA), the EV9 ADVNTR is tailored for outdoor enthusiasts, blending rugged capability with modern electric performance.

One of the two concepts will look more familiar—the EV9 ADVNTR is based on the popular electric three-row SUV. But the other is the PV5 WKNDR, a rugged off-road camper based on a forthcoming Kia electric van platform.

The two Kia concepts on display in Vegas this week both focus on off-road driving. We have a reworked version of the EV9 electric SUV, and we have a modified PV5 van. The latter was presented at the CES (Consumer Electronics Show) in Las Vegas last January. The models are called EV9 ADVNTR and PV5 WKNDER.

It turns out that there was a tough, off-road-ready SUV lurking just under the surface of the flagship Kia EV9, as demonstrated by the new EV9 Adventure concept that was revealed at the 2024 SEMA show in Las Vegas.
