The state Route 520 closure stretches from I-5 in Seattle to 92nd Avenue Northeast in Clyde Hill on the Eastside and includes all of the associated on- and off-ramps, according to WSDOT. The SR 520 Trail will also close for bicyclists and pedestrians across the lake. The highway and trail will close at 11 p.m. Friday and reopen at 5 a.m. Monday.

The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is warning drivers to prepare for what will be a monstrous weekend of construction closures in the Seattle area.

A WSDOT spokesperson said this will be the biggest weekend of construction-related closures for the entire year.

“The closures could be a monster for drivers if they don’t prepare and map out their weekend travels around the region,” WSDOT said in a news release. A complete closure of I-5 between state Route 18 in Federal Way and 54th Avenue East will occur both Friday and Saturday nights.

The Washington State Department of Transportation is warning drivers of numerous substantial closures coming to western Washington this weekend.

Mercer Street on-ramps to I-5: The on-ramps to both northbound and southbound I-5 from Mercer Street in Seattle will be closed for paving and shoulder work starting at 10 p.m. Friday and lasting until 5 a.m. Monday.

Beginning this weekend, crews with the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) will start overnight closures on parts of I-5 in Fife.
