Walgreens closed most of its stores for the Thanksgiving holiday for the first time. The retailer has announced its plans for this holiday season.

Pharmacy chain Walgreens will close its store at 1100 E. 63rd St. in Kansas City later this month. Its last day will be Monday, Sept. 30, according to a sign posted outside the entrance. Prescriptions will be transferred and available at all other Walgreens. The closest is in Waldo at 7500 Wornall Road.
