An apparel brand backed by golf legend Tiger Woods and a Baton Rouge company that makes cooling equipment for helmets and caps are embroiled in a trademark dispute.

According to a court filing, Tiger Woods’ apparel brand, Sun Day Red, has “unlawfully hijacked” the logo belonging to Tigeraire, a company that makes cooling products for athletes. The filing was registered with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on Wednesday Sept. 25.

A Louisiana-based company, Tigeraire, rejected Tiger Woods’ Sun Day Red trademark filing because it believes SDR ‘hijacked’ its logo.

Tiger Woods’s Sun Day Red range of apparel was ridiculed for its bizarre name – as well as its upmarket prices – when launched earlier this year, but now the iconic golfer finds his clothing venture accused of “unlawful hijacking”.

Sun Day Red, the clothing brand launched by Tiger Woods and TaylorMade this year, has been roped into a legal battle over their logo.

Tigeraire's opposition stems from the fact that it has used the image of a leaping tiger for four years. The company alleges that the logo of Sun Day Red, which launched in May, bears a striking resemblance to Tigeraire's own logo, as noted below:
