Usually they do bugger all in single player titles of that era but in this game a well placed grenade will either suppress the enemy almost fully or take out an entire group of them.

网页Republic commando is good and difficult. There’s the metro games with solid gun play. Not many weapons and heavy story. Borderlands games ofc. Dusk is a doom variant if you like those. Prey is really good but it’s a much slower game then you’re probably looking for. Sniper ghost warrior games if you wanna snipe.

Splinter Cell sort of went downhill after Chaos Theory, so I don't feel the need to suggest any of the other ones, just play the ones I listed in order if it interests you.
